Louis Lliboutry (Spanish: Luis Lliboutry) was an early French glaciologist, geographer and mountaineer. One of his most famous works is the extensive treaty of Nieves y Glaciares de Chile: Fundamentos de glaciología published in 1956. Lliboutry's works concentrated to the glaciology of the Dry Andes and Wet Andes, specially in the surroundings of Santiago. One of his most notable contributions were about the formation of penitentes.
